About us
Daniel and Erica always dreamed of living in France. They first met during their college years—Erica returning from visiting family in Nice, while Daniel had just completed a year abroad in Provence.
Over time, they returned frequently, deepening their connection to the country through its food, wine, and culture.
The Gastronome Bordeaux is the result of that shared passion—creating a welcoming space to share their experience of French cuisine, wine, and everyday life.
-
Daniel, originally from Kansas City, discovered his love for France during a year in Toulon, cooking alongside locals. He later earned a Grand Diplôme de Pâtisserie from Le Cordon Bleu Paris.
His background spans pastry and culinary instruction, along with experience in French-American cultural exchange, bringing both technical expertise and a deep appreciation for French cuisine.
-
Erica, originally from the Chicago area, developed an early connection to food and culture through her Italian grandparents. This sparked a lasting interest in exploring places through their cuisine.
After a career in the medical field, she relocated to France and pursued formal wine training, earning a diploma in wine tasting (D.U.A.D.) from the University of Bordeaux.
our credo
“Food and drink are at the heart of how we experience culture and history.
What better way to learn about a people and a culture than to visit their markets, share their stories and share a meal, and what better city to do it in than Bordeaux!
In the end, these experiences create a space for us to live longer, healthier, and richer lives. Please join us on this journey!”
