Our Unique Setting
Enjoy a fully equipped, state-of-the-art kitchen and reception area housed in a 17th-century building, one of Bordeaux's oldest, which blends contemporary luxury with rich history.
We are ideally located just a few minutes' walk from the vibrant Marché des Capucins, the city's largest market, dating back to 1749.

Experience a full day immersed in French culture, where you'll not only learn to prepare a delicious meal inspired by regional specialties but also explore the rich history, cuisine, and wine traditions of Bordeaux.

Our group class is offered daily 9:30 am - 2:30 pm
and on Sunday - Thursday evenings from 6 - 10 pm (through April 2025 only)

your day at the gastronome
Evening classes will vary slightly as the markets are not open.
9h15 - 9h30 Welcome and Introductions
Your day begins in our newly renovated kitchen atelier with a welcome pastry and a coffee or tea.
After reviewing our menu and recipes for the day, based on your dietary needs and likes, we will prepare a shopping list and head to the markets. (Scroll down to see our sample seasonal menu!).
9h30 - 10h45 Neighborhood Tour and Visit to the Capucins Market
We will stroll our way to Bordeaux’s central market through the historic Saint Michel neighborhood, stopping along the way to taste some local specialties such as the sarmentine baguette.
We will then visit the Capucins Market, meet with vendors, and purchase ingredients.
10h45 - 12h15 Cooking Lesson
After returning from the market, you will receive hands-on instruction and recipes to prepare a gourmet French lunch, complete with a cheese course and dessert.
12h15 - 12h30 Aperitif
While Chef Dan cleans up and sets the table, you will be invited to relax in our reception area for an aperitif. This is the perfect moment for additional guests to join us for lunch.
12h30 - 14h00 Lunch
Enjoy the meal that you prepared paired with a curated selection of local wines.
14h - 14h30 Wrap Up
Coffee, photo-ops, and farewell.
